  • Through Kaps 4 Kids, metal beer and soda bottle caps are up cycled into art work with a portion of the sales donated to children’s charities.

    Check with your local Ronald McDonald House Charities to see if they accept soda tab donations. The soda tabs are recycled and the money is used to support families in need.

  • H&M recycles clothing from any brand and in any condition. They will also recycle your worn out sheets, towels, and more.

    Madewell recycles your old jeans and denim clothing into material for insulation, food packaging, and more. Plus, you’ll receive a $20 coupon for each pair of jeans recycled.

    Dirty, old shoes don’t have to end up in a landfill. Through Nike Reuse-a-Shoe and Native Shoes Remix Project, your well-worn (or totally worn-out) kicks can start a whole new journey.

    They’ll be ground down and transformed into playgrounds, furniture, and other cool things that bring joy to communities. If they’re still in good shape, they’ll get passed along to nonprofit partners.

  • Old newspapers are a big help at animal shelters. Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation and Pet Adoption Fund all use them in their shelters. Got a rescue nearby? Give them a call- chances are, they’ll happily take your stack!

  • Old sheets, blankets and comforters without holes are used as bedding for the animals at Street Tails, Pet Adoption Fund, Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation and Animal Rescue Resource Foundation. You can also call your local shelter to see if they accept old bedding, towels, and more!

    Sheets that are totally worn out can be brought to H&M to be recycled into new fabrics.

  • Staples, Best Buy & Apple, accept broken computers, tablets, and phones for responsible recycling—keeping e-waste out of landfills.

  • Don’t toss those empty pill bottles- there’s a better place for them to go. Through Matthew 25: Ministries, clean, label-free pill bottles get a second chance to do good.

    These little containers are washed, sorted, and sent to areas affected by disaster or poverty, where medical supplies are often scarce.

    Coco Plum Co. will upcycle your old pill bottles into sunglasses.

  • Plastic and metal lids (think peanut butter & jam jar lids) are reused for the animals at Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation.

    Matter of Trust uses hair, fur and other fibers to assist in cleaning up oil spills.

    Dare to Care for the Homeless provides old keys to the homeless community to create & sell art projects.
