How to keep your SOCKS out of landfills!
Don’t want your old smelly socks? Neither do landfills! Here are some ways to give your socks a new life.
New but don’t fit?
Donate them locally! Search your nearest homeless shelter or women’s shelter to see if they accept sock donations.
Bags 4 Kids supplies new children’s socks to kids in foster care.
Functional but stained?
Dye them! You can make your own natural dyes with various plants and flowers. To make it even easier, grocery stores often sell clothing dye for less than $5.
If you don’t feel like dyeing them, bring them to H&M to be recycled!
Totally worn out?
Bring them to H&M to be recycled! If you don’t live by an H&M store, you can mail them for free with The Girlfriend Collective and they’ll recycle them. However, they have a 5 pair minimum.
Missing one?
If your lonely sock is the same style as another lone sock, consider dyeing the socks to match!
Otherwise, you can roll it up and make a toy for your pup or make sock puppets with your little one!
Alternatively, you can bring it to H&M to be recycled.
